Great catch.  You have to be quiet and patient to get such wonderful shots.

William, what a great photo.  We have a hawk which lives at and around our wooded yard, from time-to-time.  It is amazing to watch it sitting, circling its head to look for its prey and, then, the take-off and swoop down to grab its selected prey.

Super photo. The hawks in my trees shred the squirrels. They sure know about prey.

Great photo my friend. You got lucky or you were very patient, perhaps a bit of both... none the less, what a wonderful capture.

William loved the picture and the headline. My eye doctor would not like it if I had eyes like that:))(since all the money I give him) How did you capture such a beautiful bird so close up?

Hi William,

I love raptor birds and you found a beauty there. Thanks for sharing and very lucky my friend as they hide waiting for the little rodents. Great title.

Hi William, that is an amazing photo!  The special effects are very interesting even though I have no idea how you pulled it off....where a large part of this  amazing bird is in sharp focus but some of the fore-ground and the background are not.   This is not the type of photograph the ordinary photographer is able to produce.  Thanks for sharing it with us.

William, great shot and focus on the keen eye of this beautiful bird!  He will spot a mouse from half a mile away!

Hi Everyone, This bird was in a tightly fenced area in the bushes. Seeing it move is what alerted me. I was less than 5 feet away so I used manual focus on the bird and everything else is of course blurred and out of focus.

The Hawk has his eyes on something, William. Great shot and a wonderful visual.

William,

I love the motion! Look at how far that hawk moved it's head while you were taking the shot. Blurad photo, but great art!

William, stunning. Their quiet fierceness in the face is something to hold in high regard and you did a perfect job of conveying this.

I had a hawk swoop in front of me late yesterday afternoon and land on top of a short tree as I was driving to go see my horse. I cursed myself for not having my camera because I think I could have gotten some fine shots as there was nothing obstructing him. Darn it!!!

We used to have the fatest squirrels in the neighborhood because they were gorging themselves under, over, on, and occasionally IN our bird-feeders. Not anymore...

That is a redtail hawk, correct? We have them down here as well.

I suspect the hummingbirds which were dining at your house last year, would be able to outrun that raptor:-)   Except  that one really fat one, who wouldn't have wanted to skip lunch at your feeder.  He would have likely been "fair game". . . tsk, tsk!
