glass beach mendocino (California)

Glass Beach – Fort Bragg, Mendocino, CA

This is a beach covered with sea glass that was created from years of dumping garbage into an area of coastline, near the northern part of the town. The pounding waves throughout the years have broken down and polished the glass.  It's a must see.  An annual Glass Festival is held annually on Memorial Day weekend.

That is very cool. I believe that beach would be well worth a detour to see. Not sure I would want to suntan on it....yes, I know the glass is smooth, but it is still glass.

Michael -- that is a great photo.  My wife found a similar beach on Kauai a few years ago, and was fascinated with it.

I'm glad you liked the photo. We also found a beach similar to this in Italy, but not as abundant in glass, but it was smooth on the feet and beautiful to look at.

Have a great day!
