Some of you may have already noticed that I have changed my company afffiliation since joining AR a few months ago.  Here is the press release sent to the local Ocean City MD papers. I look forward to the change and I know it will be positve for myself and my clients.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's Ocean Pines office hires four new agents

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage recently recruited four new sales agents to join its Ocean Pines office - Margo Harrison, Scott Guay and the team of Edward and Mia Schreier.

Margo Harrison, a newly licensed agent in Maryland, comes to the coast from the Baltimore area. She grew up in Fells Point and lived in Towson for 26 years. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Towson University and a Master's degree from Loyola College and taught in Baltimore City schools for 30 years. Early real estate experience consisted of leasing apartments part time on the weekends in the 1980s. Upon retiring from teaching, Margo and her husband built a home on Cape Isle of Wight and they have lived there for over a year. Margo is a member the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), the Maryland Association of REALTORS (MAR), and the Coastal Association of REALTORS (CAR). She credits a superb educational component and high degree of professionalism as reasons why she joined CBRB. "Because I was a teacher, a strong educational foundation was important to me and the professionalism I encountered was a huge selling point. I was looking for a professional arena and I believe I definitely found my niche with CBRB." She was surprised to learn that the real estate market is moving along and doing better than everyone thought and encourages potential clients to contact her when they are ready to buy or sell.

Scott Guay, a retired Information Technology professional, started his real estate career in the northern neck of Virginia in 2003 and moved to the coast in June 2006. A top producer for many years, Scott holds the designations of Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), e-PRO Internet Professional, and Graduate REALTOR Institute (GRI). He plans to attain his associate broker's license later this year. He is a member of Ocean City Chamber of Commerce, Ocean Pines Chamber of Commerce and the Ocean City Parrothead Club. Scott credits brand recognition and market share as reasons why he chose to switch to CBRB. The level of technology CBRB provides for its agents and clients really impressed him, "For me that's huge as I am a real ‘techie' type of guy." Edward and Mia Schreier are a team of REALTORS licensed in Maryland. Both are members of NAR, MAR and CAR. Additionally, Mia is licensed in Delaware belongs to the Delaware Association of REALTORS (DAR), the Sussex County Association of REALTORS (SCOAR), and the Women's Council of REALTORS. As the daughter of a naval officer, Mia lived in numerous coastal areas across the country. She graduated from University of Maryland with a degree in psychology, started her career in luxury hotel sales, and ultimately ended up in New York City at The Ritz-Carlton. She gained expertise in customer service from her 15 years in the hospitality industry. She is designated GRI, Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES), and will soon be designated as a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). She has been a full time agent since July 2005 and was nominated for Rookie of Year in 2006. Edward, a longtime resident of Ocean City and Worcester County, became licensed in July 2007. He holds a degree in criminal justice from University of Maryland and is currently working towards his CRS. Both are members of the South Point Assocation, where they live. They are equally surprised by and impressed with the technology available to agents and clients, noting the "great exposure CBRB offers its sellers." Mia appreciates the corporate feeling, citing the "professional image that speaks highly of the organization." She adds, "CBRB is well respected by members of the community as well as potential clients."

"I am thrilled to have individuals of this caliber join our Worcester County team," said Peter Copenhaver, branch vice president of the Ocean Pines office. "Their work ethic and professionalism are a perfect fit."

Congratulations on bringing quality people to your team.  Now more than ever it is important to choose associates who will be an asset to the company.  The skills they learn during a slower market will last a life time.

I am located in the resort market of Blue Ridge in the North Georgia mountains.  Let's discuss the vacation market place.
