Endorse a Fellow ActiveRain Member- We all know what a letter of recommendation looks like for a resume. Many of us have written these for past associates or had them written for us. When a client gives us a testimonial we want to share it with the world. These letters can be powerful tools and used properly can help create more business opportunities for us in our chosen fields. This contest starts Monday, January 21st.

Now to the Challenge....We are such a strong community here in ActiveRain. What would the impact be if we could get endorsements or letters of reference from some of the other ActiveRain Members? I think the impact would be ongoing, helping us to build up our businesses, web presence, establish credibility with the public, have some of our strengths shared with others and generally be a tool we could use with our future marketing.

Many members have worked with other AR members in business. Some have used home inspectors and lenders, some have used home stagers/designers or products specialists, some of you have referred clients and customers to other members across the country because you had supreme confidence that the job would be well done.

I haven’t had the opportunity just yet to make some of these referrals but I have gotten to know so many quality people in the Rain that I wouldn’t hesitate to refer. I know many of you feel the same way. Getting to know someone on ActiveRain is like a close up look into the person and there are some fine people here that are truly professional, real people.

So here is how the challenge will work to Endorse a Fellow ActiveRain Member.

Pick a person in the Rain that you would like to Endorse with a letter of recommendation. You must contact that person for permission to do so. Also to keep things fair no more than 2 recommendations per Member so we can cover more of our community. In other words, the Member you would like to endorse has to agree to allow you to write the endorsement (for the contest) and not already have been contacted by two other members that will be already be writing an endorsement for them.

*Write the recommendation like you would be doing a letter of reference in a friendly yet business-like manner.

*List the attributes/qualities of the person, how you have gotten to know them, and why you think the public would be well served by using this person’s services.

*Be sure to let the public know who you are so a signature or statement who you are needs to be included. Remember that person could take this letter and post it on other social media sites or their personal website.

*Include a photo of the person you are endorsing and a link to their ActiveRain blog in your post. (You may also include their phone number and a link to their personal website or Facebook if you like. This will not be a requirement though.)

*Leave a comment in the section below with a link to your post. This will be how the points can easily be awarded.

The photo and link to the ActiveRain blog are absolute requirements for your blog letter to get the extra points.


Because we want to spread the joy of sharing this with the public you may do two entries and get points for two endorsements. Each qualifying entry will get 500 extra points up to a total of 1000 points for this challenge. You may do one or two. Post your link or links to your endorsement blogs in the comment section of this blog. The contest will start Monday, January 21 and end at midnight PST on February 8.
