BUYING TWITTER FOLLOWERS - GOOD IDEA OR BAD?
Although much appreciated by moi, in a world where significance is defined by your number of Twitter followers, I'm embarrassed to admit I have a paltry 50. And by 50, let it be understood that I'm rounding up - I actually have 49.
Now, I receive an email message saying that for $120.00, I can buy 60,000 followers. My first reaction was Seriously?? Is there anything that can't be bought in this world? But upon consideration, I realized that it's not really so different from buying a targeted direct marketing list.
So my question is this: Does anyone have any experience with buying Twitter followers and would you recommend doing so?
For sure, it's a more attractive idea to make progress in leaps and bounds, but it's conflicting a little with my environmentally-influenced life lessons of working hard and waiting patiently to receive my just rewards. It feels a little like cheating.
Then again, it's probable that I'll run out of time before the opportunity to accumulate a million followers ever becomes a reality. So, that's my dilemma. What say you?
