Whole Foods Grand Lakes Katy opens soon
Whole Foods Market will open its brand new Grand Lakes Katy Texas store on Wednesday January 30, 2013. The store is located in the front of the Grand Lakes neighborhood and physically is located on Fry road just east of Highway 99. You can take the Fry Road exit off of I-10 and go several miles and you will find the Grand Lakes Marketplace on the left hand side just before you see the Highway 99 freeway. If you take Highway 99 exit from I-10 then go about 5 miles and exit at Fry Road and go underneath the highway and take a left on Fry Road the strip center on your right will be the Grand Lakes Marketplace with Whole Foods, Stein Mart and World Market.
The Grand Opening is planned to start at 8AM. The store is finally opening after many months of anticipation and waiting by local residents. This store encomapasses approximately 37,000 square feet. The Grand Lakes Marketplace has already seen the opening of Stein Mart and World Market during the late fall of 2012 and everyone wondered when the strip anchor store being Whole Foods would appear. Smashburger has also recently opened its doors and I tried a burger from there and it was excellent.
Whole Foods executives have said that the new store opening is partially due to the requests of local residents who wanted an upscale grocery store. Whole Foods Grand Lakes Katy opens soon and this is excellent news for most residents. Traffic issues will arise and hopefully someone is working on these problems.(?)
