Hi Mona,
I though of you in the last couple of days as I watched the storm slowly get to your area. It was supposed to be 3-6 inches but it looks like you just got a couple of inches.
Still it's cold and snowy. Remember to bundle up when going outside .
Have a good day and weekend in Dillsboro.
Best, Clint Mckie
Good morning, Mona....welcome to the weather we traditionally have all winter.... everything frozen and slippery..... stockup on snow and ice melt....
Mona, looks like we got about the same amount here as you did, but you had colder temps than we did.
My car doors were frozen shut as well, but I was able to break the ice layer and get them open to start the defrosting.
Here's a shot of my house from this morning.
Mona, the weather was a reason I moved to Florida. No extension cords and blow dryers in my future. Enjoy your day and the bright sun thawing the ice on your door!
Good MOrning MOna, I forgot of thathappening when I use to live in Pennsylvania. Hope the sun hits it soon.
Good morning Mona -
We enjoyed about 1/4 inch of the glorious snow this past week before sending it your way. In fact as we sit on a balmy 24 degrees now we still have a little white stuff on the ground. With the cold blast coming to an end in our area we are to be back in the 50's this afternoon and return to our normal dry and warm winter. It's been an odd winter for all of us.
Haven't been out yet to see if my doors are frozen shut or not, but it does happen in these parts too..........yep, the old Buckeye State gets cold. Did ya know?
That is normally the winter weather we get. Rain that turns into ice which covers everything in sheets of ice. Would much prefer the snow if it has to be cold and wet.
Clint, we are seeing glorious sunshine now and feel so much better.
Barbara, I think you get this stuff more than we do. I don't mind the snow just not after all the rain. Although I guess it doesn't matter if I mind it or not!
Jeremy, it is so nice to hear from you. Your house almost looks like there is a little frozen lake around it. Pretty house.
Wayne, I understand completely. It isn't likely I can talk my mother into visiting this time of year.
Will, don't you miss it?
John, it's getting to be that we have no idea what to expect anymore.
Roger, seems like I remember something about Ohio getting cold weather once in a while...happens between November and April as I recall. lol.
Than, I'm with you there! Don't mind the snow at all...it is at least moveable and not treacherous like the ice.
Thanks, Mona! I'ts a neat little house, with a creek in the back yard. Very fun!
Mona, we didn't get a single flake up here! And there is a bunch of salt on the streets - our only white stuff.
Jeremy, I see your little smart car out front too. lol.
Patricia, Franklin NC...just 30 miles south didn't get a single flake, nor did Sylva or Dillsboro. Go figure, right?
Jeremy, I love the concept but where do you put the groceries? Sure eliminates the temptation (if there ever was any...yecch) to pick up hitch hikers, lol.
Yes, my temptation to pick up hitch hikers is greatly curbed with this model. Both for lack of room, and that it really annoys the hitch hikers that they can walk faster.
Groceries are still a problem.
But we save a TON on gas. :)
Hi Mona,
We had extremely cold weather for a week but have warmed up a little. Guess it went your way. Stay warm as the flu is in every state except TN and Hawaii.
Thanks, Mona. I've missed being able to banter with you as well. It's been really busy lately.
Kristin, we've had the flu...been there, done that. It's very disturbing to be out and about and seeing so many people sick.
Jeremy, things are looking up for all of us and I wish you astounding success in 2013 and beyond. Maybe you'll be able to swing a family outing to the Smokies.
