36 Comments on Another Place To Sign A Contract in Baltimore
Margaret, I once had a deal signed in the lobby of a Super 8 hotel. All went well and the deal closed.
Why not, its got space and I am sure its nice there
A couple weeks ago.,...after a call from the ER.....we wrote the offer from the Buyer's hospital bed....!
Margaret: I'm laughing because our local dealership has a fancy restaurant upstairs, and my husband tried to take his mom there for her birthday and was told that he had to make a reservation a week in advance (at a car dealership, imagine that).
At a picnic table in an RV park. Long story.
Great sign of customer loyalty to meet you at their. Classic example of you do what you need to do to get the job done. Thanks for sharing.
John, You were good to find them and complete the deal. Congratulations on your friendship.
Joel, Yes, that works.
Erna, The roof of the car worked for you.
Judith, I actually got a referral call later in the day.
Sandra, Since all my clients don't use technology, I have to get a bit creative. Only talk hands free in a car.
William, I am also laughing.
Lenn, All of these are places that work.
Sheila, We work as a team. And this place and time fit both of our schedules.
Larry and Sheila, At the airport we find plenty of space.
Christiansen Team, You do what you have to do.
Tonia, No I have the car I want...no danger.
Ellie, No time wasted. Always have my iPad and iPhone which is all I need for my office.
Ed. Lots of business conducted in our cars.
Richie, Not worried about what others think. Gotta get it done my way.
Fernando, I can not imaging anyone asking you to leave.
Tom, And there was a will!
Michael, Sounds super to me.
Scott, It worked, it was quick and no one really notices.
Sally, And knowing you...your bedside manner was the best.
Melissa, Ours is not fancy but it does have a quiet room and a TV room with beverages and snacks.
Jeanne, Are you planning to share this story?
Ira, It is all about teamwork and getting it done.
That is terrific. The Lexus dealership probably even gave you a nice office where it's quiet. I usually opt for Starbucks or McDonalds.
Margaret,
The place wasn't unique so much as the time. It was a woman's apartment...at 3 AM. When she called and said she made up her mind and wanted to sign the offer right now, my wife answered the phone.
Rich
We do have quite a list of places we meet clients to sign. I think you covered all of mine.. sometimes libraries or registries are an option.. as well as the attorney's office.
Chris and Dick, There was a nice space even with a computer if needed.
Richard, That was a fine time to make up her mind. Glad your wife answered. Hope you waited til daylight to get the signatures.
Joan, A library is not one I have used but a good place to keep in mind. Shhh.
Margaret, I've gotten contracts signed in some weird places too but not my dealership yet. But, you reminded me I have to take my car in for a service. Thanks!!
June, I was overdue for service and I love the way they detail the car afterwards.
I actually had to go to a car dealership last year to get an ex wife of my client to sign papers so we could list the house. Also I met with a couple at a little league baseball game to sign papers last year.
Hotel lobbies, yes; coffee shops & restaurants, yes; picnic table, once; hospital & assisted living, yes; front porch steps, yes; soccer game, yes; Irish pub, yes; airport, bowling alley & Lexus dealership, not yet! Fun post, Margaret!
Margaret - I'm not sure of the strangest place, but I did get one dropped off at a restaurant where I was having dinner and just stepped out to grab it without letting my husband know so our dinner wasn't disrupted. Didn't 'fess up until latedr.
Hi Margaret,
Being a Realtor requires flexibility and one has to think on their feet, but a car dealership is indeed a new one. Congrats on the signed contract.
All the best for 2013!
During the First Time Home Buyer Creidt when the buyers had hard deadlines for contract and closing to qualify for the credit, I picked up a contract at a bar at 9pm where the buyer was a bartender. 60 days later I signed the HUD for the seller in a gas station parking lot to get done on time to qualify for the credit.
I regularly meet new clients and sign contracts in restaurants and coffee shops. Starbucks is an easy one as there is one on just about every corner here in Dallas. My favorite place to date has been signing a contract at the kitchen table of the home that I was in the process of showing!
Clients: "We love this house! Can we go back to your office and submit an offer now?"
Me: "Why wait? Why don't we sit down in your new formal dining room and do it right here?"
Clients: "How do we do that? Don't we need paperwork and contracts?"
Me: "Yes, we do. And they are all right here on my iPad."
Electronic signatures and an iPad with an internet connection made it all possible and really gave the "WOW" factor to their home buying experience.
