FREE LACONIA, NH WORKSHOP FOR HOMEOWNERS FACING DEFAULT, FORECLOSURE

HOLD ONTO YOUR LAKES REGION HOMES

The Laconia Area Community Land Trust will host a workshop January 26 aimed at helping homeowners hold onto homes that are in default and facing foreclosure.  The two-hour session is free and open to all income-level households but pre-registration is required.

The latest LACLT workshop for homeowners facing default and foreclosure is one of many LACLT programs intended to assist low and moderate income individual and family households achieve economic self sufficiency through the development of permanently affordable housing opportunities and associated housing support programs. 

Sign-in begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Laconia Police Department Community Room, located at New Salem Street.  The intervention workshop begins promptly at 10 a.m. with Deborah Drake, a federally accredited Housing and Urban Development  housing counselor, presiding over the two-hour session.  To pre-register, contact Ms. Blake, LACLT home ownership director, at 603 524-0747, or by emailing her at ddrake@laclt.org

LACLT program organizers say attendees can be assured of confidentiality and privacy. During the workshop, Participants facing mortgage default and foreclosure will:

  • Explore the foreclosure avoidance options available to homeowners
  • Learn more about the process of foreclosure in New Hampshire
  • Review forms and receive assistance in completing them
  • Become prepared for one-on-one counseling and advocacy
  • Have the opportunity to ask questions
