I Learn Something New at ActiveRain Every Day and It's Time I Showed You. January 13 to January 19, 2013.
I learn something new every day at ActiveRain! With this series I try to highlight one post per day that gave me that “lightbulb” moment. It could be something techie, about Real Estate, about a place or person!
January 13: Jon Zolsky Happy Old New Year It’ very easy to forget that we are not the only ones to celebrate Christmas or a New Year. When I first read Jon’s title, I thought I’d had a senior moment and didn’t realize that it was a holiday today. I’m glad we have a country that is made up of so many different people with different cultures, experiences and traditions from which we can learn.
January 14: Fernando Herboso A Life Changing Event on the Back Seat of a Taxicab! If you haven’t read the entries of Kathleen Daniels’ Challenge, I urge you to do so. As I said in my comment to Fernando’s post, even though I knew the outcome of his post, I was on the edge of my seat nevertheless. For those of us fortunate enough to have been born here, would you... could you have moved to another country, away from your family and friends at a young age?
January 15: Dana Basiliere IDA Recommends Dark Sky Friendly Lights Having lived most of my life in a metropolitan area, I am like a child walking into FAO Schwarz when I am far enough away to see stars in the sky. In Delray Beach and elsewhere along the coast, municipalities “turn off the lights” during turtle egg hatching season so the wee ones won’t be drawn to the lights and not the safety of the sea. Read more about what you can do in Dana’s post.
January 16: Bryant Tutas Sorry But I Don’t Respond to Anonymous Emails. After reading Bryant’s post I’ve gone back to check to see what my signature is when sending via my iPhone or iPad. If you’re not sure if you ever changed from the default (sent from my iPhone) then be sure to read this.
January 17: Lenn Harley Have You Given Up on Your New Year’s Resolution? Take Baby Steps. I love the humor in this post (besides the picture from my favorite Leesburg carb-loaded place) but as Lenn points out not only do you have to do baby steps but have one more thing besides an “outcome resolution”. Go to her post to see what that thing is.
January 18: Mike Mueller Your Facebook Apps Are Broken! I’m always cautious about Facebook so I keep what I have very simple. If you have some Apps on your business page that someone designed for you, you should read Mike’s post. And, if you’re not familiar with Mike, who’s a Tech and Social Media Consultant, I encourage you to visit his blog.
Debbie Reynolds Endorse a Fellow ActiveRain Member OK... this may not be an Ah-ha moment but as I’m assisting with this challenge, I wanted to get this out there for everyone. And, the purpose is to help fellow AR members. If you’ve been standing on the sidelines waiting to take on a contest or challenge.. jump in.
Thank you for letting me do what I love to do each day... learn something new!
