Active Rain has given me some great friendships, most of which have been conducted solely online, however. I met one of my AR favorites a couple of weeks ago when she drove all the way in from Bristow to have lunch with me at The Mad Fox Grill in Falls Church.
Chris Ann Cleland and I have exchanged hundreds of comments on blog posts, even a couple of referrals, and honestly she's the first poster I check every time I log into AR. Her approach to her business is very similar to mine, except she is much better about blogging regularly (see her post on this same lunch she got up the day after we met).
Chris Ann is even more dynamic in person than she is in her blogs, if you can believe it. She lights up the room with her smile and her gorgeous one-of-a-kind hair, and is one of those people who you feel instantly like you've known forever. Now we did know each other a bit before we met, but she still has that warm and accepting personality that I am sure is one of the main reasons she's so successful at real estate - she listens, she gets you, she knows you. We laughed a lot and had a blast and I look forward to exhanging many more referrals with her, along with many more good times together.
Looking forward to our next lunch in February - this time with a larger group - all with VA/MD AR ladies: Cindy Jones, Susan Haugton, Tamara Inzunza, Martha Brown, Mindy Brubaker, Margaret Woda, and maybe even Stacy Robotham Baugh.
More later on the other AR greats I met at Inman Connect this week! What a great start to 2013.
