The Raleigh Farmer's Market - Fresh Fruit Vegetables... and More!

Craig Rutman, Your Humble Raleigh, Cary, Apex Area Real Estate Agent Loves Heading to the Raleigh Farmer's Market for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables!

The Raleigh Farmers Market,  located just off Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh, NC, boasts over 300 different items for sale and has some of the best locally grown produce you can get. With prices well below supermarket levels and freshness that no grocer can match, the Raleigh Farmer's Market should become a regular stop when tackling your weekly errands.

Even though I go mountain biking as often as I can and now I'm eating healthier than ever before, nearly every weekend, I find myself heading over to the Farmer's Market in Raleigh, only a short drive from Cary and Apex, to get my week's supply of fresh fruit and vegetables.

There are plenty of samples to "try before you buy", a seafood restaurant on premises and plenty of rest facilities too. The Farmer's Market also has a Fresh Bakery section where you can find delicious locally baked cakes, pies, breads and cookies.

Bring the kids, bring a camera (there are some great photo opportunities here) and bring an appetite!

The Raleigh Farmer's Market is open year round from 5 am - 6 pm Monday - Saturday and 8 am - 6 pm on Sundays. Located off Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh, NC, the market is only 15 minutes from Apex and 10 minutes from Cary. From I-40 take exit 297 and follow the signs to the market. It's clearly marked. You can do it! Phone: (919) 733-7417

Is that the Farmers Market where we met Cinnamon when you picked my up at the airport?  If so, it's amazing.

Craig,

Our Farmers Markets are buttoned up for the year. I can't wait until they reopen. Local produce does taste better.

This farmers' market must  be pretty popular to get enough business to stay open for so long Craig. Thanks for the excellent local post.

Craig - sounds like you're on the road to perfect health! I wish we had a farmer's market, but during the winter it's hard to find any fruit that even tastes like fruit! No wonder so many people want to live in N. Carolina...for so many reasons!

I did not get off to a good start with the eating this year. Exercise, yes. Eating not so much. I guess I should be headed to the farmer's market.

Kathy - Were you not aware that I grew up a potato farmer way back when....

Roger - That's the one my friend! And, yes, it is amazing!

Richard - There's nothing like fresh produce Richard. A good salad, fruit every day. How else could I possibly maintain this manly physique?!!!

Kristin - I'll bet you guys could get frozen vegetables in WI this time of year!

Tom - It's huge! And the crowds, although much smaller this time of year, are still quite impressive every weekend.

Kristine - It's just one of the many reasons people are moving here on a daily basis. I've made this a weekly stop on my shopping trail. With my advanced age, it's important to eat healthy.

Melissa - Don't fret it Melissa. No one gets off to a good start with the holidays and all. But you still have plenty of time to get it together!

Hey Craig - I can't wait until the Farmer's Market opens up around here again.  Shoping local & eating healthy ... tough combo to beat.
