This is the opening week of the long-awaited San Francisco Jazz Center. Situated at the corner of Franklin and Fell Streets in the Hayes Valley neighborhood, ribbon cutting ceremony and tours of the building began today. All tours were sold out in advance, which bodes well for the SF Jazz Center - we're excited to have it here in our midst.
Opening night concert, Wednesday January 23, is also sold out, but can be enjoyed by the rest of us on NPR Radio. The Schedule of Artists coming between now and June is posted, so you have plenty of time to find some great concerts to enjoy.
The Hayes Valley neighborhood already is home to many of the city's great music venues, Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall, SF Conservatory of Music, Herbst Theatre, SF War Memorial Opera House - now jazz has its own hall, specially designed for great jazz performances.
Before or after your performance, stop in one of the many nearby restaurants to make your evening complete.
The SF Jazz Center and Hayes Valley can be easily reached via Muni bus, BART or taxi. If you drive, parking at the Performing Arts Garage is a convenient spot.
Perhaps now is the time for you to Live your San Francisco Dream - it's so easy to enjoy all the City has to offer when you're here, on the spot. Call me now, I'll help you find your dream spot.
