The Amherst NH Plant Sale by the Garden Club event is a true "Gardeners Delight!"
I know snow is on the ground, but we love this event and are looking forward to Spring and our gardens.
The Amherst Garden Club holds its annual plant sale on the day before Mother's Day. This is a fun day and great way to get your NH garden started or get Mom a colorful Mother's Day gift she will love.
This year, the plant sale will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 8:30-1:00 at the Wilkins School (80 Boston Post Road) in Amherst. The month of April, Garden Club members dig up perennials, bushes and ground covers from local gardens and pot them; this assures species sold will thrive in the NH gardens. This is an opportunity to have your garden plants divided and also find out plant names. If you are interested in this service email Marti Warren at martiwarren@comcast.net (673-7054). We like to dig plants as early as we can and our dig times fill up quickly so let us know early.
Amherst Garden Club members, many of which are Master Gardeners, will be on hand to answer questions about gardening in and around your Amherst NH homes. An information booth will also be there to assist you.
The sale will also include a section of local vendors. The Book Table sells gently used garden books and magazines at incredible prices. The raffle table is also very popular each year, this might be your year to win! The food table will set you up with yummy desserts for the Mothers Day weekend! A dozen vendors are invited to sell their garden-related products. There will be heirloom tomatoes, bird houses, hanging baskets, vegetables, annuals, a great variety of hosta plants and day lilies all offered by the wonderful vendors.
The Amherst Garden Club's Annual Plant Sale has become a tradition in Amherst NH that gardeners all over southern NH attend. Its a wonderful event and we encourage all to attend. Come early our 2000 perennials get picked up quickly!
