Renewing Expired Oklahoma Drivers License
Unbeknownst to me, my Oklahoma drivers license expired at the end of 2012. Regular Drivers Licenses in Oklahoma are for 4 years. Since my birthday is in December, and they expire the last day of the month of your birth month, December was it for me..
Saturday, I pulled them out of my billfold to use as ID to pick up an order at a local store and while I was waiting on the sales clerk to get ready for the information from my license, I looked them over.. Uh Oh..
I haven't had any reason to check them, and there's nothing that comes in the mail, etc.. so I did not know my Oklahoma Drivers License had expired..
Tag offices (where you renew Oklahoma Drivers License) were closed on Monday, but I checked the Oklahoma website and it indicated that I would need to bring my birth certificate and my expired license to get the expired license renewed.
Tuesday morning, first thing, I called the local tag office and they told me to just bring the drivers license.
As long as I renewed them by the end of this month, I would not need to bring my birth certificate or go see the license examiner.
I was glad!
So it wasn't so time consuming as I feared.. there was no penalty. It took about 10 minutes and I walked out with my new license.
This time, I'm marking all of my calendars, 4 years down the road to renew my Oklahoma Drivers License so they will not become expired Oklahoma Drivers License that needs to be renewed.
