Lottie,

Kudos to you for posting this notice:  San Mateo County CA - gun buy back program.  Others may disagree but I feel it time for America to take a hard look at the problem of violence in our country.  Yes, the second amendment gives us the right to bear arms, but not to the determent of others.  Who needs an assault rifle to protect themselves?  Do hunters go into the woods with an assault rifle?  Lastly, background checks should be mandatory in all states.

Good morning, Mary. Gun buy back programs are only a tiny step, but a good one, nonetheless. I'm in complete agreement with your comments above. Hopefully getting the word out about San Mateo County's gun buy back day will let those who choose to rid their households of guns of a good, safe way to do so.

Mary, I'm happy to tell you that the gun buy back program in San Mateo County was a huge success; so many cars were lined up, waiting, that they opened earlier than planned.
