NAR stands for the National Association of Realtors. It is the world's largest professional association with over 1 million members. The purpose of NAR is to educate, conduct research and share information among its members. Also, NAR holds its members accountable to follow a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. Realtors that are memebrs of NAR hold a higher standard for the quality of service they provide to their clients. Needless to say NAR not only serves for the betterment of the Realtor as a professional but also to protect consmers when dealing with a Realtor. When finding a Realtor make sure he or she are a current member of the National Association of Realtors.
