66 Comments on I'm Becoming a Librocubicularist!
is .99 like the Dollar tree ?? I know the Dollar Tree often has great books for a dollar ... Hope you can make it to your granddaughters Birthay party ...and hope you are better soon !
Great post. It's a great idea to just go unplugged every so often, no TV or phone, and just sit back relax, read, and enjoy some peace and quiet
This is a funny post. Made me chuckle. We got rid of our land line and cable a LONG time ago. We just never used either. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
Yeah, that's not what I thought that word meant ... glad you defined it. I'm a Librocubicularist too.
I thought I was good at controlling expenses, and getting great deals, but I've learned more about that from my college-age daughters in the last few years than I ever thought possible!
Mel, although the flu has given you an opportunity to do a lot of thinking about cutting expenses and catching up on your reading, get better soon. You're the only person who saves money by getting the flu. lol Wishing you well!
I have been eyeing a few things that if they don't start pulling their weight, they will be leaving soon enough...too
Reading is THE benefit of all benefits. Knowledge is power : ) - J
I would get sick just attempting in saying the word. .librocubicularist? . . my tongue keeps getting stuck. .
btw. .
I x'ed top producer over 5 years ago.. . when I realized the same thing you did..
An interesting fact. .
" libro" is Spanish for book. .
Mel, I hope you are feeling better, the flu is not fun, but if you are able to read, that is a benefit. We use the dollar store here and have for a long time. I am amazed what you can get there for a dollar. My daughter-in-law had a baby shower last month and the gift bags in the store were no less than 4-5 dollars, I went to the dollar store and got a bag that was even better for a dollar. We watch a lot of news so keep the cable but it is expensive and if your home phone is not on it it is no less expensive. There must be a better way. We are still thinking of disposing of that. We have internet which what we have to have and it is part of the cable system.
Synchronicity! Me too! I'm not only getting rid of a lot of stuff taking up room, I'm unplugging from services like you that no longer really serve me. I confess, I'm also a librocubicularist, and instead of watching tv, I'll watch TED talks and vlogs on my iPad (in bed)... What would that be called, a librocubiculipadist?
Good One Mel, had to look it up......

Thanks for the well wishes everyone... I'm finally turning a page with this flu bug ;-) Some of your comments made me LOL... (you know who you are)! They were medicine for the soul... thank you a whole bunch! I'll share my 'Libro' finds in an upcoming post!
Mel ~ I hope you are feeling better. Sometimes I find myself buying more than I need in the dollar stores because of the bargains.
Mel, about the only thing I watch on TV is NCIS (not the LA version) and news...even the news is getting to be too much blah, blah, blah! I actually cut back last year on cable and really haven't missed it...besides, who has time for all that...it's all I can do to keep up with business and when I do have a few moments I'd rather be out on my Harley!
Mel, sorry to double dip here, but I remembered your People of Walmart comment...argh!...they are devoted. I think I've only been in a Walmart a handful of time and was forced into into it!
Still cannot prenounce it but anywho, just out of curosity what database will you use. Also if you get rid of your landline, Prisoners and folks in jail cannot get a hold of you as you cannot accept collect calls on a cell phone HEHE just is case a friend gets arrested and trys to call.
