Things to Do in Alameda: The Alameda All Star Zydeco Band featuring Mark St. Mary and his Zydeco Band will perform on Friday, January 25 starting at 9:00 pm at the Eagles Hall, 2305 Alameda Avenue in Alameda. Things to do in Alameda: Frank Bette Center will celebrate DEJA VU!
on Saturday, January 26, from 7 -9 pm.  Deja Vu runs through Saturday, January 26, at which time there will be another party to close it down and finalize your bidding on that treasure you always wanted!  That's right, the Frank Bette Center for the Arts is not afraid to party.

Things to Do in Alameda:The Kiwanis are set to kick off their 14th Annual Chili Cook-offand BBQ Dinner on January 26 at 5:30 pm at the “O” Club at Alameda Point, 641 Redline Avenue.  Twelve teams will be competing for the title “Best in Alameda”.  Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win an IPad, an IPad Mini or an IPod.

 

Things to do in Alameda:  Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid are back with more food trucks on January 26,from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot near Petco.  Eight to ten trucks will including Curry Up Now, Fins on the Hoof, Hapa SF, House of Siam, Mayo & Mustard, Pacific Puffs, The Chairman and We Sushi.  Count me in.  Sooooo good.




Things to do in Alameda:  The Alameda's Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday, January 26  and Tuesday, January 29 morning from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine.  Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits and vegetables.  The market is at Webster Street and Haight Avenue.



Things to do in Alameda: Minus Tide Exploration is on the agenda for Crab Cove on Sunday, January 27 at 4:30 to 6:00 pm at the Cove at 1252 McKay Avenue in Alameda.  Bring you mud boots, jackets and a flashlight to explore for animals exposed at a low tide.  Hot cider will be served on the porch where you exchange stories about your finds.  This event is free to all ages and sounds like a lot of fun for the family.  Rain cancels.  Info 510-544-3187.

Father and Daughter's Stars and Hearts Valentine Party on city of alameda website


The Father and Daughter Stars and Hearts Valentine’s Party is set for February 8 at 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Albert H. DeWitt’s Officers’ Club at 641 West Redline Avenue in Alameda.  Dads and Daughters will enjoy a special evening of dancing, music, crafts and small bites.  Daughters in kindergarten to fifth grade are welcome to attend with their Dads.  The price of admission is $25.00 per couple and $15.00 for each additional daughter.  Sponsored by the City of Alameda.  Please call 510-747-7529 for more information.



Alameda Point Antiques Faire on Sunday, February 3 from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.  You will have great time people watching, buying cools things, and enjoying great food. Entry fee is $10 before 7:30 am, $5 after 9:00 am. If you haven’t been to the Alameda Point Antiques Faire you are missing a great event.   Anything you ever wanted or didn’t want is at the Faire.  This is a great people watching event.  Walking always makes me hungry.  Luckily, there are wonderful gourmet food and drink trucks.  The weather should be beautiful so try and arrive early, doors open at 6 am.  We usually arrive around 9 am when entry is easy and parking is not too bad. There is so much to see and so little time.
