Motivation doesn't last?

By

People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing-that's why we recommend it daily. – Zig Ziglar

Ok, I'm going to be honest. We are day number 14 in the 2013 BIG Blog Jumpstart Challenge and there are 7 more days to go. Tonight I'm tired. I'm distracted. I thought about not writing a post tonight.  I could just quit.  It's hard coming up with a quality post when you are tired and distracted.   I’m distracted because I’m bringing home a 10 month old Great Pyrenees pup tomorrow after she has been spayed.  She is a 60 pound pup that I have adopted from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.

So, anyway I seriously thought about not writing a post tonight. Yet, here I am typing away.  Maybe my blogging on a daily basis is starting to become a habit?

Does anyone have any favorite “Never Quit” quotes?

Sincerely,

Note:  If you would like to learn how to add or edit pictures in your blog or if you are interested in maybe picking up a few shortcuts,  go to the Active Rain University tab and click on video tutorials.    Kerrie will walk you through how to insert pictures, resize them and edit the pictures.   Prior to watching the video, I had always manual typed in the size of my pictures.  I liked the option of just uploading the file like I did on this post.

Congratulations on the pup Sondra. 60 lb. is a biggie at 10 months and humane society or shelter or rescue dogs are wonderful. BEST Never Quit quote was from Winston Churchill with the Battle of Britain and bombs raining on London. Quit? Never, never, never, never, never!! Of the Royal Air Force, never have so many been in debt to so few. 21 days to make a habit.

Sondra, it sounds a lot like something my Dad used to say about raking the leaves up in Ohio.  Why rake them?  They'll only be back again in a few days?  And... guess who'd end up getting stuck raking the leaves?  Moi.

It's funny how the same excuse would not work on him when I tried to use it.  :(

ps... yesterday was his Birthday, or would have been.  He passed twenty-five years go... he would have been 94.  He died at 69.  That also gets my attention very quickly in that I will be turning 69 in a few weeks.  Hmmmm.

Sondra,

It's early in the morning here and I wasn't really going to come on to AR but decided to anyway. Now I know why. It was to be led to your inspirational post. I hope the next time you're tempted to not post you remember that such a positive post and example of your committment inspires countless others. Thanks for not giving up.

These challenges do have a way of getting you into a blogging routine. At least it works for me. This one has been rough for me, too. My business is really busy right now, and there are so many other things going on.

I can't wait to see pictures of the puppy.

All of us do need time to take breaks for the stress of business activities.  Our goals should include spending more time with those that we love.

Blogging every day is a good habit only if the blogs are productive.  Too many of us count busy activities as business when we should be measuring our success by our productivity.

Sondra-We all get tired and distracted that ls a part of life. As to the blogging and not wanting to do it because of that I guess I would ask myself why am I blogging tonite. Is it beneficial to me and my business. Is it something I want to do and enjoy. Is it a priority? Challenging yourself is good as long as your goal is realistic. Only you can answer that for you. Congrats on the new pup. He is a big pup. Good luck with him. I enjoy your blogs as others do.

I know personally I am not a everyday blogger and don't want to be. As to the challenge. Just think it is only 7 more days and then you can post at your leisure and what is the worst that would happen if you didn't meet the challenge. Only you can decide what you do or don't do.Best of luck with the remaining days of the challenge

Here is a couple of quotes. I like yours a lot.

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
