How you help those 'other' real estate sites outrank your local SEO
And you know who I am talking about. What do you see when you google Real Estate in your area? The first two pages (or more) are filled with Zillow and Trulia and Home Finder and on and on. And why?
The other day I was scrolling through Active Rain articles and I saw an ad in the upper right corner with a similar title to this one. It piqued my curiosity so I clicked, and was taken to the Real Geeks website. This is a real must read for every agent out there, AND their assistants.
To make a long story short, using all of those Trulia, Zillow and endless other 'competitors' widgets, does just as Real Geeks says, it steals your thunder in SEO. By using their widgets, they are getting your local SEO and pushing you down in the ranks, even (or should I say especially) if you are using their widgets. Pretty sneaky if you ask me.
Please read the article, and then be smart and remove any links, widgets, ANYTHING that sends any competitor SEO to outrank you.
And encourage all local agents to do the same. Maybe if everyone bans together, we can get those competitors off our first pages, and see our real local experts on pages one and two and three...
