I'm definitely too busy. During December through the middle of January, I had a series of deals that were getting hung up on just about every snag they could. It seemed like I ran from one to the other just about everyday. They were both REOs, and of course they can be unpredictable sometimes. Both of these were constantly unpredictable.
In both cases, closings were schedule, rescheduled and rescheduled again. It was on and off, and on and off and on and off again. The whole time these two were keeping me busy, I had new clients, more contracts and of course there is that pesky business of my other business. Needless to say, I was busy.
I realized how busy this week. This week, I spotted a package on the back seat of my car. At first, my brain didn't register what it was, but when I picked it up I realized it was a package I picked up at the post office in mid-December and placed on the seat while I continued on with my business day, and then, I forgot about it. I should clean my car out more often.
Anyway, I opened it up this week and to my total surprise, it was a care package from another one of Virginia's great real estate professionals, Wallace Gibson. Wallace and I have similar tastes when it comes to books, movies, etc. She has graciously kept me supplied with audio literary works throughout 2012, and now throughout 2013.
The package contained 2 audio books, and since I nearly live in my car it's awesome! There was also a hardbound book by Vince Flynn. I'm really looking forward to digging into that one.
Wallace and I are both big Ted Bell fans. Ted Bell has a series of books about the latest British super-spy, Alex Hawke. I've read all of the books, and when Wallace found out I was a fan she shipped me the latest book on audio. It's called Phantom. Since I'm in and out of my car so often, it took me a lot longer than I expected to get through it, but I loved the author's various voices he used for the characters I've come to depend on in a Bell book. It was awesome.
So, a big thanks to Wallace for sharing her literary treasures with me. They do keep me entertained while traveling. I was a bit disappointed recently to discover my CD changer had decided to stop working. I had a 14 hour drive with plenty of time to listen to one of the original shipments, but the plan was foiled. No worries though, I will just change vehicles and carry on. It's so great to have so many people willing to hang out in the Rain with each other. Thanks, Wallace.
