We're Getting an IKEA in Charlotte NC! Hooray!

By
Real Estate Agent with Leigh Brown & Associates, RE/MAX Executive

IKEA announced today that they are finally bringing a store to Charlotte NC!  I'm SOOOO excited!

And the best part is that the store will be located in the University Area of Charlotte (that's the north side, near UNC-Charlotte), where we need more great retail and less Wally-world action.

No more driving to Atlanta for hot, affordable, contemporary furnishings!  Hooray!  We only have to get to 2009 to get it...=)

You will just love IKEA!  We have two in the Chicago area.  IKEA has a few great lines of kitchen cabinets - they are perfect for people looking to update a kitchen on a budget.

Congratulations!  We just got ours a couple of months ago - I blogged about it here, because I was so excited not to have to drive to Houston for IKEA (now if we can only get a Penzeys here . . . ).  I've found that IKEA is also a great resource for really inexpensive items for minor staging or even for closing gifts for the right clients.

I bought a rental condo with a couple of pieces of Ikea furniture in it.  I advertised on craigslist and had about a dozen calls in 2 hours.

That was fun!

I'd like to see an Ikea store here.

Oh Leigh - don't even talk to me about IKEA, they have been threatening to open in S. Florida for years and we are finally going to have a store in Sawgrass before the Summer - I am so excited!

I have never seen IKEA.  We could sure use a good reasonably price furniture store in Hawaii. We had an Ashley Furniture ofr a short time.  their prices were very good, their inventory was at best ok and they went bankrupt.

I was thrilled to find out that IKEA is going to Charlotte. I'd like to join the staff for employment. Does anyone know how I can apply. I am from Greensboro NC and will be willing to move towards Charlotte.

I'm with you Dick and Sandy...I guess we're still in the dark ages here. I've heard about it but I think only from my daughter's college roommate who lives in Atlanta. But I've never been to Mayfaire in Wilmington so what do I know?? If it's Charlotte in 09, it's Wilmington in '15!

Mrs Lane-I'll get back to you as I find more information.

Dick and Vicki-seriously?  go to www.ikea.com.  It's a crazy cool furnishings store.  The ones in Chicago and Atlanta and probably the others as well are so busy they run shuttles from the parking lots!  It's going to bring a whole new level of cool to rehabbed houses, check our their cabinets and especially the pricing.  And FYI-we're getting a store here apparently because of an extensive letter-writing campaign. =)
