If I were to read this post, I'd say: "No way! That couldn't have happened!" But I'll state now that it's all true, every word of it.
I began working with a couple I had met at a Rotary Club meeting. They were relocating from South Jersey to our area in Northern Central NJ. After several emails, I made arrangements to meet Kimberly at a home about 5 minutes from my office at noon on Saturday. 
Unfortunately, Marilyn (our son's brand new pick up truck with the 9" lift kit and dual exhaust and oversized tires which, by the way, is a lot of fun when off-roading) had a flat tire in our driveway (and coincidentally only 2 days after off-roading adventure) so Jean stayed home to wait for AAA - who, we now know, doesn't cover oversized tires or lifted vehicles so even today Marilyn is still flat tired and our son is despondent. And I drove over to meet Kimberly at the first home she wanted to see. Parking on the street was not going to happen so I pulled into the driveway. Kimberly pulled in right behind me. So far, so good.
We went to look at the apartment, the first floor of a two family. It was nice, albeit a little small with too few closets, but nice, nonetheless. As we went outside to look at the garage we noticed the second floor tenant had pulled into the driveway and we were in her spot. So I pulled my car up to the garage as Kimberly did with hers. I thought I felt a bump as I pulled up, but wasn't too concerned. We checked out the garage, then I went back to lock up the apartment and put the keys back in the lockbox.
As I went back out Kimberly was in her car, looking a bit alarmed. Her car wouldn't start. Turn the key and nothing... Dead... Now I'm not what you'd call a car guy, although I suggested a few things, none of which worked. So I suggested that I drive her around the corner to the gas station and they could tow her car in to fix it. I started my car up and noticed a warning light. It said my front passanger tire had zero air pressure. I got out and looked, and sure enough the tire was flat as a pancake!
About to call AAA for the second time that day, Kimberly offered to help me change my tire so the two of us worked together to get the tire changed. Once the donut was on I drove her to the gas station. The mechanic told us that because her vehicle has all wheel drive, he couldn't tow it and we'd need a flat bed.
The topper to this is that on Friday Kimberly purchased a NEW car and is going to pick it up on Monday. She called a friend who has a flatbed trailer and he said he could come up on Sunday to pick up the car. So now, I needed to drive her 45 minutes south to her grandmother's to get a car to go home.
After dropping her off, I found an tire dealer and waited almost 3 hours for them to put a new tire on the rim. The bump I felt was a piece of metal that was sticking up from the ground and had punctured the side of the tire.
Needless to say, we didn't look at any other aparments today. But, I now have a new friend and a great story to tell...
