Ask yourself these questions 1. Why do you want to move ? Where do you want to move to ? Do you need to net a certain amount of money amount of money in order to move ?
If you are an empty nester and the house is too large or if your family has outgrown the house and you need a larger home you have different needs.
You may need the equity in your home to purchase another home . You may need to find a home to move to.
Remember the price that you receive for your home is determined by the market and by a buyer willing to buy the home at a certain price. It does not depend on what you need.
In some cases you have no choice and have to move for health reasons or job situation and relocation.
If you need to move quickly list your home at a price that is attractive to buyers. A good real estate agent can provide the comps and help you determine the price. If you do not need to move and find that for the current market value of your home you cannot find another place if you sell this one then continue to live in your home.
