yup, crazy busy week. Have no idea how/when I am going to type a single post. Have new listings running out my ears.
Tammy
Hey Mona, I agree, I saw the bat on the news and I and thinking, must be a slow news day. It is starting out to be a great week.
It's really good to hear that so many of us are busy right now. I know for a fact that we weren't this busy at this time last year...good news.
I remember the song, of course, but I have not heard it used in a commercial. I'm really enjoying the Sleepy's commercial, though, these days.
Jill, I'll have to check out the Sleepy's commercial...is it a local thing? I've never heard of a Sleepy's. The commercial for this song is Walgreens.
Mona, marketing and advertising gurus are super creative and do a great job of selecting songs from the past and/or catchy hooks. I will pay more attention when I see a Walgreens commercial.
Lanise, they definitely know how to catch the attention of the baby boomers and those just a touch younger.
I am certain the reason they use songs from the 60's and 70's is because they were GREAT SONGS! The new music today may be good but just doesn't have the "hidden" background of why the songs from the past still linger. We had a reason to sing about social issues and if you really think about it those issues are pretty similar today. The song that comes to mind as I write this to you is FREEDOM from Jimi Hendricks in 1971.
Cheryl, I'll have to see if I can find a video of Freedom. There was so much powerful music from that era.
Mona, first of all, as soon as I read the title, I KNEW what song and what band.....I've been a CCR and John Fogerty fan for years. Saw him years ago in an outdoor concert with Bonnie Raitt I think--it was so much fun! I love them and his solo albums...whenever I want to get a little country/early rock crazy, I can listen to my CDs of him and them. I used to have some of their 45s...YUP!! I'm an OLDIE GOLDIE, BABY!
So, now I have to go play your video....
