Today, I had a client ask me who I recommended for Home Owners Insurance.  I gave him a list of three providers that I use on a regular basis.  The client was impressed that all three referrals were from different insurance companies.  I told the client that it is hard for me to determine who might be the best fit for him and each agent has a different philosphy.  Some agents are primarly customer service focused and others are looking to offer the best coverage for the best price but may not be available when you need them.  The client went on to tell me that customer service was their number one priority as they had lost a house to a tornado  and their parents had trouble finding the agent when they needed help the most.  The client went on to tell me that an insurance agent was "Johnny on the spot," for their neighbor and they had always hoped they could agin find that level of customer service in an agent once again.
