There are things that are mindless and done without thought all the time. We breathe, we brush, we bath and generally don't even think about them. And then there are the foods we ingest without realizing it: bagels in the office, donuts at the open house or chips where we find them. None of these things count because they weren't planned and therefore not meaningful.
Business can be done by rote too. Sometimes I find myself doing without thinking, and other times I know I over think things that don't warrant any thought at all. I am not unique. Most of us have developed habits that we hold onto even when they make no sense, because....we've always done things that way. Once in awhile it is important to step away from the chips. Wonder where the dip went....? Potato chips and other quandaries.....
