I have been doing exactly what you are saying.  It works bottom line.

I post to Localism all the time - for the exact reasons you list. I think AR has made the change that you can not post a listing to Localism and to the Professional Category at the same time, yet I still see listings in the professional category. Is there a secret marketing ploy out there?

There is a group that just accepts listings and I bet people probably post them twice.

You are so right. Consumers do use Localism. And posting there does increase online exposure.

Great point! I've started in this New Year to post homebuyer and seller information there. As well as my listings. It's even in my business plan to post frequently.

Thanks for the kind words Derrick and D'Adrea.  I think localism should be on everyone's business plan.  Most people that have found me lately found it through localism or active rain.

I do agree that it's important to send info to localism. It's a good consumer site and a great way to get your name out!

Matthew-Thanks for the post. Your post motivates me to get really active on Localism. I have  been posting pictures of my area neighborhoods.

Another good thing to do on Localism is to comment on the neighborhoods of areas in your city or county.  It really helps when people google in that area.

I may add if you want to find out how well Localism works, I suggest they go to www.MyBlogLog.com and sign up. It really shows what people are looking for and how they find you, you will be amazed how many find your localism posts via Google and you can figure out what words people are searching for and change your blog tags to fit!
