Rain, Wind, Crazy Rain -- Coincidence?

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Brad MacKenzie

I joined Active Rain last week.  The weather's been unseasonably warm the last two days: in the sixties when the normal highs are in the forties.  The warmth came with some seriously stormy conditions.

Rain

This morning I woke up early to the sound of wind and rain whipping against the house and the sliding glass doors to the balcony.  Where I live, there's always some urban "night glow", but when I pulled the curtains to see what the storm looked like, I couldn't see a thing.  Dark as a dungeon.

But wet.  Really wet.  And windy.  Up at Blue Hill, there was a wind gush that registered 81 miles per hour.

Later I got a call from one of my clients who had an appointment to take his engineer out to a wooded property that has some wetland issues.  The engineer had called him, asking, "What do you think?"  My client said, "I don't know, what do you think?"  The engineer responded, "Hey, I've got KIDS.  I'm not risking my neck in the woods and the mud!"

The weather cleared up remarkably swiftly, so that, by the time their appointment would have arrived, they would have stayed dry, at least from the knees up.  They've rescheduled for tomorrow.

Just because I join a group called Active Rain in January, that's no reason for a warm blast, a wind storm, and a lot of unusual, for January, rain activity, is it?

Brad, cute post!  This is a post that I could have written.  We have a bit of snow on the ground here.  And you know, I can't blame the engineer for turning warm weather on you.  Who wants to get bopped by falling limbs?

Brad -- came over from Pat's list of recommended blogs.   Now you get a feeling for what Active Rain is about, though usually we don't welcome people so enthusiastically.  Have a fantastic week!

Thanks, Steven, for your enthusiastic welcome!  I love it.  I lived on the water in Gig Harbor for a year almost a decade ago.  It was a part-time gig: I was flying from Telluride to Sea-Tac to D.C. every month.  I'm grateful I don't put that many air miles on my log anymore!
