Exciting news - Palisades Free Library and the Tappan Library are beginning major expansions in the next couple of months. Director Maria Gagliardi said the $350,000 project at the Palisades library will add parking spaces and an additional walkway along Oak Tree Road. Also included in the renovation is a meeting room on the second floor. The library’s Board of Trustees began planning for the project in 2006 and has retained the Palisades architectural firm Tersigni Palachek.The project is being partially financed with a $146,00 grant through the state’s public library construction program.
The Tappan Library is also planning renovations. The director of the library has said that they are planning to reconfigure the whole place. We wish both libraries the best of luck with their renovations.
