Well, I made it through most of the day today feeling pretty good. One accepted offer this afternoon and possibly another one tomorrow. No complaints there. As I sit down at the computer an email comes through from a friend linking to a ContraCostaTimes.com article. Apparently the Berkeley City Council has passed a resolution telling the US Marines that their recruiting station "
is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to say, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders."
As if that wasn't bad enough, the liberal wackjobs granted the even wackier Code Pink group a designated parking space in front of the recruiting station and a free sound permit for protesting. You have got to be kidding me, right? No offense to my fellow California Realtors, but what in the name of all things holy is wrong with these people?
I'm always amused at the hypocrisy displayed by political extremists. Free speech is protected at all costs... let their voices be heard... unless, of course, in the case of the Marines, the US Military, faith and family or conservatism, those opinions differ.
We work with a great number of military service men and women and we're both from a military family. Our family members have spilt their blood in every conflict this country has been involved in since setting foot on American soil in 1683. The Marines aren't welcome? They are now considered uninvited and unwelcome intruders?
May God bless the poor misguided souls of those on the Berkeley City Council, because someone certainly needs to.
Not that the Berkeley City Council is reading this... but if so, I would want you to know that I'm all for freedom of speech but this is just going a speck too far. Who the he!! do you think gave you the ability to vocalize that outrageously stupid opinion. Here's a hint. It would be the men and women of the United States Armed Forces that bravely and selflessely serve and protect our freedom and liberty.
Just so there isn't the slight bit of confusion as to where we stand. We proudly serve the members of the United States Military. We applaud and deeply appreciate your service. We will stand by and defend you as you have stood by and defended us. God bless you. OOH-RAH!
This is the unapologetic opinion of Jesse & Kathy Clifton.
Great post and thanks for saying it!!! Berkeley needs to secede from the union, in my opinion.
