Rainbows

By
Real Estate Agent with Coastal Properties Group International - Christie's International

Hawaii may be the Aloha state (and for very good reason) but I now know why they have rainbows on their license plates - it could also be the Rainbow state.

Today we rented a car and drove around Oaho - there was intermittent rain, generally still with blue skies, and we must have seen a dozen rainbows - often double rainbows. But it wasn't the number that was so amazing. When we were near Mililani a rainbow came across the sky that had wide bands of color, so vibrant they were like neon colors. The color bands kept getting bigger and brighter, with a Star Wars quality, since we were running out of Wows! It's amazing there aren't more accidents while people are looking at the sky.

The rainbow was the most brilliant and astonishing I'd ever seen in my life. The rest of the day the rainbows were - well, rainbows. That one brilliant rainbow, however, is etched in our minds.

janeAnne - if I could share the rainbow with you, I would.

Sally - I'm glad you saw that rainbow, too. I thought of you going past Mililani, but we just didn't know how long it was going to take to drive around the island, and didn't want to pay to park the car over night - it cost more than the rental fee!

Jennifer - yes, we've had a great time, truly experienced the Aloha spirit. When we try to describe the rainbow, the usual question is, "Oh, was it a double rainbow?" No, but it was far more colorful and impressive than even a triple rainbow.

Katerina - glad you were able to enjoy them when you lived here.

Photos? Sorry. #1) we were deep in traffic with no place to pull off and #2) I don't think there was any way a camera with a non-super-professional could have captured that phenomenon

Thesa - thanks.

Frank - Louisiana's earned this kind of rainbow.

Ryan - oh, yes, Celebrate the Little Things in Life! Some CRSers from Wisconsin were here and telling me how cold it was there. I can't even imagine 20 below.

Neal - yes, we're lucky in Florida. The other rainbow I remember was one that came across a field in Tennessee, and the next day, where the rainbow had ended, we drilled in the biggest oil well in Tennessee's history.

Patricia - you'll just have to imagine the rainbow - I can't imagine how a picture would express it.

Brian - as commented before, you'll have to picture it in your mind.
