Hi David.  I clicked on the first three.  There were no prices.  Do you know what the extra costs were to be green?

Hi Conrad, the homes are not for sale, just being built. Costs for green can range from 0% additional to up to maybe 6 to 8% of original construction cost depending on what features you get.

For example a very well insulated and air tight home will require a much much smaller heating and cooling system so the additional cost  on the insulation is saved on the decrease of the HVAC smaller system.

Another example, LED lighting will cost you more but the payback is in 1 to 3 years then for the next 20 it is money in your pocket.

Along with that green homes require less maintenance, are healthier to live in and better built since there is a 3rd party verifier.

This is a very timely topic as many of us receive very high utility bills.

Have an outstanding day!
