Active Rain is home to some fine musicians.  Real Estate and the professions that support it seem to attract some very creative people.

In my humble opinion, any group worth its salt needs a fiddle player.  Larry Morris is ours, and he can make that electric fiddle talk!

The four of us were practicing in my office last Thursday night, getting ready to cut a CD as the application entry for our group,
4 Wheel Buggy.  We finished up Monday night, (bottom photo) and sent it off to the judges at the 2008 Tucson Folk Festival.

If we make the cut, they'll let us know in about three weeks that we've been chosen to perform, one of several dozen individuals and groups who will entertain you from five simultaneous venues in the heart of downtown Tucson.

Introductions would be in order, now that you know Larry.  That's Frank Hartline with the dobro up there on the left, your's truly in the center, and Tucson songwriter Jim Hogan on the right.  "Another Cervesa Would Be Nice" is one of Jim's songs on our entry CD.

I hope the judges like it!  I know you would, so keep your fingers crossed for us!  Plan to attend if you'll be in Tucson on May 3rd and 4th.

Click here to find out all the particulars.

The 2008 Tucson Folk Festival is produced by the Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association.  You'll find it worth your while to read up on that bunch of talent.  Click the link to go to their website.

We'll look for you in May; come on down!  We'll do our best to make you feel welcome.

Wow! I LOVE folk festivals! My mother and her father used to play the fiddle and always competed in fiddler's conventions. I'm a blue grass junky at heart.

I would love to come out to that! I may just do it.

Mike:  I never knew you played guitar!  I've playing playing guitar for 15 years... and drums for about 10 years.  I'm more focused on the drums now but music sure is a great hobby!  :)  Keep up the good work!

Cynthia,

Thank you!  I'm the least talented of the group, but they let me have fun anyway.

Jesse,

LOL.  If the Iowa people are snowbirds, I just figured that residents of Fairbanks, where the clock outside the bank has been known to register a snappy minus 53 degrees, might be Ice Birds.  I need to figure out how to (1) make, (2) convert to html code, and (3) upload a video clip to Active Rain.

Who has a tutorial for me?

Kathie,

I never stopped.

Richard,

That's good to know.  I have a little travel Martin backpacker guitar that I take with me of trips.  Let's get some AR musicians together.

Blue Grass Junkie Linda,

That would be awesome!  Let me know.

If you have a digital camcorder that will take care of the recording...the uploading to AR is the easy part... just a few little clicks.
