Something's Happening In Johnston County And Clayton's 27527 ZIP Code.

There are some interesting facts about Clayton, NC and Johnston County that have come to light in recent days although they won’t come as any surprise to folks who have lived in Clayton and the immediate area for the last number of years.Clayton's new walking trails

First off an interesting fact about Johnston County that was published in the Triangle Business Journal that shows that Johnston County leads the Triangle in economic growth. The results stem from Total Personal Income growth rate as a percentage from 1986 to 2011, Johnston County’s growth rate increased 523.73% which places it at number 37 in the country.
Johnston County is bordered to the west by Wake County which is home to Raleigh the state capital and this fact, plus the proximity to Research Triangle Park has fueled some of the growth, however Johnston County has a wide range of industry and infrastructure that provides jobs and taxes.

Another interesting fact, again courtesy of the Triangle Business Journal shows that Clayton’s ZIP code 27527 is the 18th wealthiest in the Triangle. There has been a steady influx of people moving to Clayton for years. Why do they move to Clayton? For the schools, for the rural feel, for the house that you would pay $50,000 more for in Cary or North Raleigh and there isn’t another one right on top of you. Some come with their jobs, Caterpillar, Grifols, Novo Nordisk all have large facilities in Clayton employing hundreds.

I moved to the 27527 ZIP Code about 15 years ago and have seen a lot of changes, new schools, shopping centers, traffic lights where before there was a stop sign. I welcome growth  as long as it is managed properly which it is in Johnston County.
We are twenty five minutes from Downtown Raleigh which was a city that rolled up the sidewalks at 5PM on Fridays and reopened on Monday at 9 AM 15 years ago, now it’s a completely different story, and as it grows so do the surrounding counties, it appears that Johnston County could be headed for a growth spurt as land has become scarce in Wake County and developers looking for large tracts of land have started to look this way.

I mean in two hours you can be pitching your fold up chair on the gorgeous Carolina Beach and you can enjoy the beach from April to November.
