Houston Audubon Docent Guild Offers Saturday in Nature
The Houston Audubon Docent Guild is offering a “Saturday in Nature” at the Edith L Moore Nature Sanctuary. The program begins at 9 AM until noon. The Edith L Moore Nature Sanctuary is located at 40 Wilchester Houston, Texas. It is about 14 miles from I-10 and Highway 99 intersection meaning it is not far from Katy Texas. Normally it is an easy drive in non-rush hour times.
This program is offered on a specific Saturday during February thru May with a differnt theme being featured on each day.
The programs being offered are:
February 9, 2013 : Bird Watching - Craft project is to build a bird feeder
March 9, 2013 : Tree Talk - Craft project is leaf printing art
April 13, 2013 : Bugs - craft project clay cravings
May 11, 2013 : Rummel Creek walk with wearing water shoes - Craft project is fish printing
This is a family oriented program and there are no fees and donations to Audubon Society are encouraged. All attendees are asked to park in the Memorial Methodist West parking lot located at 12955 Memorial Drive and follow the path with market gate to the Sanctuary.
The Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary is a 17.5 acre heavily wooded area along Rummel Creek and includes a restored log cabin. The Sanctuary is open 365 days per year with the gates opening at 7 AM and close at 7 PM ( 9 PM during summer months). All dogs have to be on a leash but are allowed into the sanctuary.
i personally have never have the opportunity to go to the Sanctuary but I will have to put in on my list after reading about all that it offers.
