In the world of real estate, the Spring Market really gets going in February. Some will say that Super Bowl weekend is the last real 'winter market' weekend. On that theory, we should be seeing a lot of new listings. I have seen an increase in properties for sale, but we are still woefully short of inventory.
If you are planning to sell your Northern Virginia home this spring, it is a great time to get your home on the market. Buyers who have been without inventory all winter (and we have had a real shortage), are anxious to write contracts. Interest rates have been creeping up, adding additional pressure for buyers to find the right home.
When your home is on the market, you are usually interested in 2 things:
- A short amount of time on market before going under contract
- A good price for your home
