Looking for something fun to do in Palatine, IL? Do you like wines of all different kinds? Do you like specialty liquors and exotic beers? Do you like high end cigars? If you answered yes to any or all of those questions, then this sounds like the place for you (and it sounds like we would get along pretty well)! The Wine Cellar in Palatine is not your typical liquor store or wine shop for that matter. They carry hundreds of different types of wines, Champagnes, sparkling ciders, imported beers, tequilas, whiskeys, scotches, vodkas, etc. And it's not your typical run of the mill stuff that you would see at a regular liquor store carrying Bud Light and Jack Daniels....not that there's anything wrong with those brands but this place is for when you're looking for something cool and out of the ordinary.

The owner, Larry, and his staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable about everything that they carry. It's really cool just listening to them talk about their products because you can tell that they're very passionate about it and they definitely know what they're talking about.

But to me, the thing that really sets them apart from everyone else and makes this place such a fun thing to do in Palatine is the Taste Room that they have adjacent to the store. They are open Thursday-Saturday from 5-10PM on Thursday and 5-11PM on Fri. and Sat. You can order wine by the glass, sit at the bar or at the tables, and just enjoy a nice relaxing evening with friends. It's also a good way to expand your pallet and knowledge of wines. They offer Super Flights of wines which allows you to taste and sample a couple different quality wines. They also do in store taste testings as well which is a great way to get educated on wines, get a good buzz, and have a fun day.
