Thought for the Day! Prayer and Work, Work and Prayer

Real Estate Broker/Owner with John G. Johnston & Associates, LLC

Thought for the day!  Prayer and work, work and prayer.

Each of us have a faith, creed, dogma, doctrine that we live by.  It might be a Bible verse, a proverb, a famous quote or just something our Mother's preached to us every day.

Of the many I can quote:  "Pray is if no work would help and work as if no prayer would help" has been something I wake up to every morning.

I know each of us has more than one quote that motivates us but I ask you to share just one.

Enjoy the day!  We Become

John~ I second Christina. And would like to add, "there's a certain dignity when "we" are working" and with the right attitude- unexpectedly good fortune lands and takes off taking "you" with it. Thanks for the perfect blog. "way to rock the rain out of it"

Thanks John, all three phrases have a lot of power to change out lives, prayer has immense power and so does what we consistently strive to be each day.

Hello John,

For me there are quotes and there are scriptures/ Bible verse(s). 3 quotes come to mind. (1) "The highway to success is a toll road. Everything has a price." - UNKNOWN  (2) " If we dont change our direction, we're likely to end up where we are headed." - Chinese Proverb  and the ever popular... (3) Insanitity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein. Now if I begin to write scriptures/verse(s) that touch my heart each day, we could be here a while:) Great post and thanks for sharing.

Good morning John G -

Thanks for the morning inspiration.  Yes sir, I'm a huge fan and believer in prayer and leaning on HIS support constantly.  I enjoy my morning and late evening talks with the Lord as we walk.  Of course I shoot Him those bullet prayers (as I call them) all during the day as well.  With Him I can do all things.

Thank you for your wonderful post.   I definitely spend much time in prayer - often it's in my car driving to an appointment for a quick second when I see a number come up on my phone or before I call an agent back when we are negotiating, but it's a constant in my life.

I really like the quote you shared.   I have a small card taped to my computer, my car dashboard and my bathroom mirror that says "What does love require of me today"   I want to live my life demonstrating Jesus and He was love.  That is my motivation and whats help me to do things right.  :)

Christina  I swear I have responded more than once to this blog.  Old age is getting me.  The older you get the more simplistic it needs to be!  Thanks for commenting

Jon  There you go again allowing my ego to take off.  "Dignity" makes me think "I'm I doing good, right, as best as I can?"  Thanks for you comment!

Michelle  That about sums it all up.  It doesn't get any truer than that.

Bob  It amazes me how much I think about little phrases and how much they motivate me.  Enjoy the day!

Robert  Those 3 quotes are good, very good.  I had heard 2 of them before but not the one about the toll road.  Thanks for sharing!

John  Bullet prayers keep us sane as a society...and I know many of them.  My quiet time with the Lord is watching the sun come up.  Enjoy the day, my friend

Joy  What does love require of me today...ROCKS!  Thanks for sharing that one.  Enjoy the day!
