Where are the Journalism Standards??
Paddy makes a very good point in this post today. The listening public these days tends to believe everything they hear on television and what they read on the internet.
The segue here into real estate is for those of us who follow the Code of Ethics, DO NOT SLANDER YOUR FELLOW REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONALS.
While at the gym Tuesday, an agent that I know was clearly talking out loud about another agent. The listener did not know this agent very well and obviously had no clue about the real estate professional that was being slandered. Folks, we must always adhere to our ethics and use REAL ESTATE STANDARDS.
If you are approached by another member of the public complaining about a real estate professional, simply say, "I'm sorry you feel that way. How can I help you?" And move on. Do not join in the rant. Nuff said!
I was watching CNN and they ran the story of Lance Armstrong and his legal problems as a result of illegal doping. They also mentioned many professional athletes such as Alex Rodriguez, Roger Clemons and others. They then segued into a story of a Cenegenics doctor, Jeffrey Life, M.D. Dr. Life is 74 years old and has the body of a 30 year old. He takes testosterone replacment therapy and Human Growth Hormone (HGH).
The CNN reporter indicated that the use of anabolic steroids is linked to various health problems such as heart disease. Well guess what....HGH is NOT an anabolic steroid!!! Not even in the sam eballpark (pun intended) Where is the journalistic integrity. Millions of viewers were absolultey deceived and CNN will never correct the story. I am certain that physicians at Cenegenics have pointed this out...but the damage has been done!!!
