Shopping for Homes on the Internet

By
Real Estate Sales Representative with RE/MAX Preferred RS152252A

Shopping for a home has changed drastically over the years.  These days, unless you are in a beach vacation spot, you are not likely to walk into a real estate office and ask to see houses.  More than likely you will start your search sitting in your pajamas with a cup of coffee and a computer screen.  Similar to computer dating, you will key words into your Google search bar and come up with various websites that will show you all the homes in your price range.

What you may not realize is that you may land on a website where you will need to sign in to get more information and that there are real live agents who will then be contacting you to see if they can help you with your search.  This is not the odious thing that some people seem to think it is.  At least not if you land on my website.

My website

I genuinely want to thank you for visiting my site and I really want to help you find your home.  I will call you to say hi and thanks, and ask you a little bit about what you are looking for, but I promise, if you are already working with an agent, I'll wish you luck and be on my way.  If you say that you are just looking and that you are not ready to speak with a real estate agent, I'll ask if I can keep in touch from time to time.  My website will actually be set up to send you listings as often or as infrequently as you would like, based on the search criteria you put in.  I like to talk with people first, just to make sure that the listings that my website sends them are actually homes they want to view.  I don't want to spam people!

Enjoy your home search and if you'd like some help in Delaware And Chester County, I'm here!

Great info where 90% of buyers start their shopping for a home nowadays Susan and I agree that registering is nothing to fear. Some of the very senior crowd also expect the REALTOR to do all the work for them with the search once the criteria is set up and even don't have a computer or use email so it does depend on the client.

Susan,

Excellent! Drive people to your website and engage them there. Let them work at their own pace.

Hi Gary, I'm working with a set of seniors this afternoon that are very internet savvy.  They didn't find me on the internet though, personal referral, which I think is about right for that age group.

Tammy, I'm not the pushy type.  I wouldn't want someone to push me.

Rich, It's a shame that some folks feel they need to put in a fake number.  I won't bother them if they prefer not to be bother.
