Not a damn thing in my humble opinion!  What's wrong with Sandy Springs, Georgia? Absolutely nothing!  I have lived in Sandy Springs for nearly 23 years and don't understand the reluctance some homebuyers have with moving into this city.  Sandy Springs has been one of the most, if not the most successful at a transition to cityhood.  Let me point out some of the great things about living here:

  1. Sandy Springs is hands-down one of the most professionally run cities in the US.
  2. Sandy Springs has actually produced an enormous Tax Reserve Fund.
  3. More streets have been repaved and sidewalks poured since cityhood than it was for 50 years prior!
  4. The Sandy Springs main business district is showing tremendous signs of revitalization.
  5. Sandy Springs is as close to the City of Atlanta as any suburb in the metro-area and with the lowest tax rate.
  6. Sandy Springs has access to MARTA Trains, GA400 Corridor, Perimeter Center Business District, Buckhead Business District.
  7. We have some of the best hospitals in the Southeast US: Childrens at Scottish Rite, St. Josephs, and Northside.
  8. Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Kroger, Publix, and the Farmer's Market.
  9. Beautiful old traditional neighborhoods with wonderful homes of character, as well as new Townhome communities.
  10. A vision that is leading to the building of beautiful Parks and plans for additional Green Space throughout the city.

If you are looking to relocate into the north Atlanta metro-area, or simply relocate within the city of Atlanta; don't discount or rule-out the City of Sandy Springs.  Easier commute, great location in the metro-area, great restaurants, and proximity to the Buckhead Nightlife as well as the Perimeter Center Shopping District.
