Good tips. Thanks.
These are good tips and I really needed a reminder. My trunk is always "loaded" with items that should not be in there. I am going to try to correct this. I know that it would save me money.

Plan, plan and yes, plan... It does not always go as scheduled, but plan...
Simple and easy tips! Love it!
While I do try to keep my van as empty as possible, a couple things are always in the back- a air compressor to fill up the tires if needed and a few cloth grocery bags. In the winter, I add a blanket and a snow shovel.
Great information and good info to share with my clients as well! Another reason to "touch" them and keep you in the forefront of their minds.
Is that the spare tire in the trunk or the one above the waist :)
Keep the tires at proper air pressure with regular oil changes does great things.
I used to (and still perfer to) drive with my windows down (breeze blowing thru what hair is left...), but saw a report about how the car is designed to be most fuel efficient with the windows closed and a.c. running. So, reluctantly, I do that more now. Grab the convertible when I get "that" urge...
Those are excellent tips, John! It seems we have these cycles with gas prices that seem to come from nowhere. I often think they do it, and get away with it, because they simply can!
I drive a Hummer H3 so I need all the gas saving tips I can find John!
I love the list, John. I don't know if anyone mentioned to save your personal errands for one trip. For me I'm not at home in Minnesota for four months while teaching skiing and staying with my daughter's family in Colorado. SO I left my car at home and take the FREE CITY BUSES in Steamboat Springs. I can get anywhere I need to be without a car. Oh Bliss, even walking and busing in a snow storm now. Obviously, you can't do this when you aren't able to get away for this period of time. It does save on gas and care repairs, etc.
#55 Don't drive around buyers who are not serious about buying... (was my favorite -when working in MN)
John, good stuff. Now I'll have to remove those sign boards from the trunk that just stay there forever (as if I am ready to list another home soon...lol).
John - Good tips as gas prices are certainly on the rise again.
John, I am thinking that "Getting Healthy in the Rain" and losing weight can help us increase our mileage in our vehicles as well as our lives!
All good stuff, yet planning your traveling trips is more essential to saving money on your fuel costs than anything else.
Don't know if this was mentioned, but our grocery store's loyalty card gives you points for the money you spend in the store that can be used to lower the gas price at the pump at their gas station. We save a lot of money doing that.
Tire pressure and keeping it tuned right are two big ones. I noticed my mileage dropping and not long after my tire pressure warning light came on.
The best thing is for the US to become energy independent. The second best thing is to telecommute whenever possible. I know...sometimes you have to meet with your clients, but I decided that I am working from my home office tomorrow to save on fuel. I have all the same tools at my home office as the real estate office. I do like rubbing elbows with the people at the office, but once in a while it is good to work from the home office.
Good tips for real estate professionals. Many real estate professionals have traded their large automobiles for more economical alternatives. You can sell just as much real estate driving a Honda Accord.
