Easton Yearend Update

Easton is making a great comeback!  Like most neighboring towns, unit sales volume was off in 2006.  Easton also experienced a slight decline in Median Sales Price and Average Sales Price.  However, 2007 put Easton back in the realm of good years for Real Estate.

Unit Sales were up 17% over the prior year --  About half way back to the 2005 level.  Median Price was up 5% coming in at $760,750.  The Average Selling Price also finished up with a 2% increase over prior year to $848,827.  Both these amounts are slightly under the 2005 levels but definitely show that the local Real Estate market is not being bogged down in the nationwide slump.

The low sales for the year were $275,000 and $410,000.  It is worth noting that the $410,000 sale was $15,000 over Asking Price.   At the other end of the price spectrum, we find the top two sales coming in at $1,544,000 and $2,250,000.  The $2.25 Million sale was for a vintage 1725 home on just over 3acres with a four stable Barn.
