The headlines said it clear and simple last Sunday. I was up in Mt. Pleasant at the Soaring Eagle Resort hiding away from the winter blahs and I stumbled across something intersting in the paper. It read -- "Lansing Housing Boom" -- as I dug into the story a little deeper there were many economists stating the same thing. In fact, there were people who even went as far as to say Michigan has reached their bottom and was now heading up for an economic recovery... which meant .... people were buying houses.
But not only that -- There were many jobs available too in several key industries. This was interesting to me. Months earlier I had met with housing developers, home builders, real estate agents and commercial real estate property managers and they had websites that were not optimized properly. If they were optimized it wasn't nearly enough to get on all three search engines - Yahoo, Google and Bing.
To speed things along and to find potential buyers we decided to give away SEO - optimized sites for these real estate professionals. There was no catch to the program. You can pick out what city you want to be found under and what category, (2 bedroom home, 3 bedroom etc.) and pop up on page one of the search engines.
THE BUILDING OF COMMUNITY
The advertising community is out for themselves. Over the last 15 months this has failed the local buisness community on several levels leaving them to scratch their heads in utter confusion. We have lost video giant production houses such as Grace and Wild in Farmington Hills, and other boutique advertising firms. A lot of web design firms are suffering the same ill effects of their corporate leaders. To say in short, they are limited. This leaves the advertiser to hop from one bad experience to the next.
We have participated with a cash loan program through Ronnies Jewelry and Loans in Waterford, Michigan. This allows the participant to use their gold and silver items to get a cash loan. To speed up the process we were announcing this program to S.E. Michigan residents who needed assistance with mortgages or property taxes. The program was a runaway success. We started to hand out optimized sites to local businesses. This allowed us to get a tight grip on the local online community and increase our programs awareness on the web.
Now we are doing that same type of progam for real estate professionals with a community minded incentive. Here are just a few of our goals.
