42 Comments on We are so sorry to inconvenience you, but can you show us homes on a Sunday?
I have distractions, but I will take appointments on the weekends and some holidays. 4th of July yes, Christmas.. no.
Appointments are appreciated and some advance notice is nice. I received a call the day after Thanksgiving at 11:00 a.m. The caller wanted to see 4 properties at 1:00 p.m. I had family plans at 3:00p.m.
That was really nice of your clients to consider your time. Wishing all the best on finding them a NEW home.
When you can carve the time out and know that you have an appointment it makes it so much easier to plan your day no matter what day it is.
I hear you, CT. One thing nice about being self-employed is that you can have your weekend on Tuesday/Wednesday or whenever you want it. I do the same as you. I met two clients today. I took yesterday off. I do try to have time off, but I also have a business to run and help to prosper.
While I dont advertize The fact that I work on Sundays, I have done an inspection or two to make a schedule work out for both parties.
So far this year I think I've worked in some capacity every day except 3 days. It's just the nature of the beast anymore. You have to find time for your own things when you have open time.
Jared, I write more offers in Panera and Starbucks than my office. Like you, I work when they need me to.
You're right, they WERE a breath of fresh air. I get buyers all the time who apologize for bothering me. I simply explain to them that no apology is needed. This is my job!
You have to work when it makes the most sense for the people you serve...weekends are the ticket a lot of the time.
Great post! I love that our buyers and sellers are so considerate to ask if we are available to work on a Sunday.
Jared - We need to make ourselves as available as possible though there are certain holidays when I just won't work.
You must be the best partners in real estate. Working on Sundays is really not my thing, but if it's really needed then I can squeeze in my time.
Glad to see I am not alone in this world. It cracks me up when agents say.. "I don't work after five or on the weekends." It's no wonder they make less than 50k per year.
Congratulations on your feature, it is nice to hear a buyer who asked instead of demanded. I show homes day, night, weekends and holidays and they key is answering my phone when so many other agents dont. Thanks for sharing your story
Way to go! WE need our buyers to work, and most of them work M-F 9-5, so we need to be available when they are available.
Thanks so much for all of your comments.
Tamara # 38 is my favorite comment. We NEED our buyers to work! We NEED to be flexible to accomodate them. Those agents that don't work nights and weekends can send me those buyers. I'll take em! :)
Sounds like a great fit! Not everyone would do that but that is why there are many agents out there to give people options! Very nice.
Once I dcided that I was going to stop working weekends, and guess what? It didn't work too well. So noe I pretend that Thrusday is the weekend.
