Talking Back to Bank of America

Apparently, all the activity on AR has gotten a response from the behmouth - BOA....Congratulations AR on being able to move this in a positive direction.

May I say to BOA that it shouldn't TAKE this for consumers to be treated fairly and with respect.

The big banks are largely responsible for the tanking of the American Economy.  This has ruined the lives of millions of people throughout the world.

Offering sensible solutions to the problems that YOU created after billions of $$$ has been showered on you on the taxpayer dime is quite literally the LEAST YOU CAN DO.

Unfortunately, I don't have an account at BOA that I can cancel - only my mortgage - and if I have problems with that,  I expect you - BOA - to prove everyone wrong and actually perform fairly.

Over this last week, the most re-blogged post was Gail Robinson's Today I Was Told by BOA My Home is Going into Foreclosure.

Like many of us, I was completely outraged as I read about Bank of America's callous treatment of a family who was going through a really tough time.

My savings and checking accounts are with Bank of America.  Um, until Monday Morning!  And when I close them, I am going to tell them that I'm closing my accounts because I don't like the way they treated Gail.  Then I am going to write a letter and email it to Brian Moynahan, Bank of America's CEO, to let him know that I'm mad, and I'm doing the only thing that I can to show him, which is move my money to Capital One.

Oh, and for my buyers?  Bank of America is now sooooo of my list of lenders I recommend to my clients.

If you would like to do the same, here is his email address:

brian.t.moynihan@bankofamerica.com

I heard Mr. Moynihan speak at a recent seminar at the Brookings Institution here in Washington.  He sounded like a nice guy.  He made Bank of America sound like a good corporate citizen.  Yeah.  Right.

Now I'm not saying that all of us Active Rain bloggers should close our accounts with Bank of America.  I'm not saying that we should all strongly suggest that our clients use lenders who are not Bank of America.  But I, as an individual Realtor, plan to close my own accounts with this ban and counsel my own clients to seek financing from one of the local lenders who have been providing wonderful service to my clients for years - the kind of service that Bank of American used to provide.

Ruthmarie-   wasn't it amazing what the AR community did.  I'm off to read Pat's post.  Thanks for reblogging.

Ruthmarie,  thank you for the re-blog.  And I just added this to the original post:

OH, AND P.S.  You needn't have accounts at BOA to let Mr. Moynihan know how you feel about this.  You are a real estate professional, and as such, you are in a position to steer people to or away from the company he heads.  What we have to say about this sad affair is (or should be) very important to the leaders of the company.
