Look What I found on MLS today!

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Professional Associates

Today I was searching on MLS looking for homes for a buyer client.  I came upone a listing that had only 5 pictures and they were all sideways.  It made me think;  Did the sellers know?  Was the agent trying to draw attention? Did the agent not know how to rotate pictures?  If the agent didn't know how to rotate pictures, would they know how to do more complicated things?  Was the sellers going to get good representation?

A good marketing campaign should include an abundance of good quality pictures at a minimum. If this was your house for sale, would you be happy?

I think that this is an MLS and brokerage issue that deserves some BASIC photography tips.....local community college or hire a sales person from local camera store to come in and give a dog/pony on taking photos AND using photo editing software

Pam, those are the types of pictures I bring with me to the listing appointment for that house once it expires, along with a set of photos for one of my listings.  You don't even need to say anything....a picture speaks a thousand words!

It amazes me how many listings have a bad pic - a real disadvantage for the seller as so many people start their search on the internet and if there are no pictures and/or bad pictures the potential buyer just passes the listing - a picture is worth a million words!

sad part is, the agent appears to be away for 3 weeks, so I don't think it will be fixed for a while if ever.

When I go out on a listing appointment I try to tell sellers that photographs on-line will make or break your sale.  If the photos are bad then likely you aren't going to get a buyer in their car and to your front door.  I too wonder if they ever look at their homes on-line to see how badly they are represented.

That is just sad.  Surely they noticed the pictures were sideways.  If not the agent, wouldn't the broker in charge look at the firm's listings?
