Bradford old Esso filling station. Old card provided by James Whitlow.

James Whitlow, blog friend, knew where the filling station that we posted a few days ago was located. He researched and came up with another one made of rock.  This one is at Bradford, he says, and it is a post card.  I asked him it the picture was squeezed to make that building look so small and I have not had a response.  I like the Coke signs that evidently match on each end of the canopy.

Now I need to plan a trip to Bradford (or Don and Mr. Google can go on my behalf) and see if it still exists.

I wish I had one of those little buildings in my yard...some might call it the dog house...or it could be a refuge...I remember as kids we were always creating club houses...I love those rock buildings and little gables...they don't make them like that anymore...

Could be totally wrong but I think this station was just outside Bradford on the highway to Newport.  My grandfather's youngest brother Asa Fraser lived to the right and just out of camera shot of the station property.

Debbie, Luke would have loved one of those, wouldn't he?

Mary, I think so too.  When I have to go to Bradford again, I plan to check.  I am thinking it is still there.

I'll be surprised if the ESSO sign is still there...that is really antique...

Yes, Ms. B, Luke would LOVE it!

Of course LOVE the ESSO sign.  I always 'coveted' one, but never could bring myself to buy one at the antique stores.  What would I do with it?

I do have the large oval ESSO patch that my dad wore on his blue and white stripped overalls.

The Google Man took me from one end of Bradford to the other and out 367 toward Newport and I didn't spot the quaint rock ESSO filling station.

This is as close as I came.

Anita, I remember your dad was the Esso man.  We may need to redo some of his Esso pictures.

Don, you did good but that one looks like it has sunk into a hole, doesn't it.
